Freeride: Freeride skiing is extreme, heavy physically intensive skiing. Little by little Freeride has matured into a professional sport and because of that, the need for professional equipment for serious competition didn’t take long to be present. The main concept behind the word Freeride is to ski with no course, goals or rules. There are also differences between powder skiing, freeride skiing and freestyle skiing.
Ski touring: Often times called ski de randonnée, ski mountaineering, and Alpine Touring or variants allows the user to climb and descend slopes with no assistance of ski lifts using special equipment. Scarpa has scarpa ski touring boots specially designed for this sport.
Telemark: Telemark skiing is also called free heel skiing. It is a variation of skiing that uses the Telemark turn. The difference with Alpine skiing is that Telemark equipment either have a binding that only join the boots to the ski at toes height, like in cross-country skiing, or might be liberated to only join there.
